With a Masters of Law in Taxation, Linda has effectively litigated many cases involving complex finances, commingled property, property tracing, and other complicated property issues. In addition, we have ongoing relationships with Certified Public and forensic accountants to evaluate property and income issues.
MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Our family law office is experienced in representing clients with mental health issues, such as Bipolar Disorder, depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, and other mental problems. We work well with these clients and frequently receive referrals of cases involving these issues from mental health professionals and other family law attorneys.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Our office represents victims of domestic violence, domestic abuse, spousal abuse, and other family violence. These cases present complex family system problems in addition to the normal legal issues in dissolution cases. Attention must be given to children who may have witnessed one spouse injuring the other. Domestic violence is not limited to physical striking, hitting, punching and the like. It can include preventing a person from leaving a room, throwing something, spying on the other spouse, controlling his/her movements or verbal abuse.
SPECIAL SITUATIONS
Alcohol and Drug Related Cases: Often a divorce or child custody dispute involves drug or alcohol dependency issues. Many attorneys feel these cases are too complex. Linda is skilled in representing spouses of individuals with chemical dependency problems or a person who is in recovery from a chemical dependency. The first and foremost concern is for the children of the parties who may have been damaged as a result of abuse or neglect. Frequently the parties finances have been compromised as a result of the addiction. Rebuilding a sound future can take time and minimizing the costs of the dissolution, if possible, can contribute to that. However, the Offices of Linda S. Gross also has special requirements which are imposed upon clients in alcohol and drug related cases.
